Project Contributors:

Developed knowledge products on operational energy efficiency, maintenance practices, and refrigerant management in the Residential AC sector. Conducted specialized short-term capacity building workshops for RAC technicians nationwide. Integrated innovative practices, including AI & Machine Learning tools, for enhanced operational performance. Implemented mechanisms for disseminating knowledge to HVAC-R users through incentivized strategies. Created training materials tailored for RAC technicians working on unitary Direct Expansion systems. Executed a training program for around 2,000 RAC technicians in 50 locations across India. Collaborated with ISHRAE as a technical partner for material development and workshop execution.

Analysis of Microclimate of the Urban Forms In New Delhi For Urban Heat Island Impact Assessment

Project Contributors:

This research project involved the estimation of the impact of UHI in the built environment of Delhi using advanced tools like Rhino with Grasshopper and Ladybug addons. The study involved collection of weather data analysis at micro, meso and macro levels (Site level, Precinct level and City Level) and modelling it using the software tools. The impact of vegetation, water bodies and landscaping were estimated by defining their geometric and thermal properties. The surface temperature at different levels are visualized using the maps with temperature ranges plotted on them. This study intends to develop GDCR for the city based on the UHI effects and support develop a sustainable built environment.

This assignment was part of the Design Innovation Center project by Ministry of Human Resources Department to SPA Delhi. SPA is developing an innovative external moveable shading system (EMSS) for reducing solar discomfort in the various climatic region of India. The assignment intends to provide technical support for the prototype development for EMSS by identifying the critical solar angles that cause solar heat gain affecting thermal comfort in a building. The work will be accomplished through Python scripting in Grasshopper and modelling in Rhino.

Developed the design for a solar PV system to reduce heat ingress through skylights based on shadow analysis.

Organized a Panel Discussion on NIK technology use in educational campuses at AICTech 2023 Conference, promoting stakeholder engagement and discussion.
